Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication

48 Hours Inclusive Design Challenge : Day 2 of the challenge

13 October 2009

The next morning is even more and more tough. We knew our issue very well, but we still haven't found the perfect solution. Some ideas went one to another, and we were getting more frustrated.

This morning our teamate from Bosnia just joined us. Her name is Natasha, product designer. She has been very helpfull. Well at least I found someone I really can talk to beside Jim :) as they speaks English.

48 Hours Inclusive Design Challenge : Departure Day

Yeah!! Finally just few more hours to the 48 Hours Design Challenge!!

My journey in Seoul will begin. I'm so nervous, worried, excited and happy at the same time, but don't know which one is more than another.

I've read all the presedence, try to train my brain to be more creative since these past 3 weeks, but still I'm nervous.

I've double checked my travel documents, luggage contents, laptop&software, designing tools, phone cell atributes etc but still I'm worried.

Rumah Makan Segar Wangi

These are posters I did for my relative. He's doing the eating place business in West Jakarta. Yesterday he took me to try the foods and in my opinion, the foods are so delicious. All are traditionally made and served. Even the place also still looks very traditional with the bamboo and wood architecture. The atmosphere there is also fabulous! It was very hot day but I can still feel the wind blows while we were eating, because the place itself is sorounded by the yard with big trees.

The 48 Hours Inclusive Design Challenge

It's 17 days to my another important days of my life for this year : The 48 Hours Inclusive Design Challenge!!!

The competition will be held in Korea from 11-14 October 2009, sposored by British Council.

Now I'm a bit worry, becuz inclusive design indeed is not a simple thing to do. But it's not me if I dont take it as a challenge. I love to do this kind of things, makes me push myself to the limits. Makes me realize that I can do better each time.

Huge step forward

It's been long time since my last blog I wrote from Bangalore.

I've been very busy setting up my new design company with my other 3 partners.

Studiofour. Started from 4 ex-collegues who have same vision. We just resigned from our last company that grows together with us for more than 2 years. Until we felt like we are ready to start for our own. So here we are now.

India Project Day 4,5,6,7,8 and 9

Day 4

Seems like architecture here not so wow. Especially the residential buildings. I noticed that they really like to put textures on the facade wall. The used bay window a lot. And there's something unique about the residential buildings here. They like to name their house and put the name on the front boundary wall.

travelling around is good for us to know people habits. I found out that handspray for the toilet is a must here. In Singapore public toilet only provide toilet paper.

India Project Day 2&3

Day 2

Good news came late morning, the project is still on, yeah! So we straight away did the measurments of the existing building, since this is a renovation project so we want to make sure that we had the actual size correctly. It was good that Zul has a laser measuring tool, it really save our time and energy. I think I will get one when I reach singapore later on.
