Nostalgic Hobby

About weeks ago, I started to watch (again) a reality shows about next big America's fashion designer : Project Runway.
Watching that shows really reminds me of my hobby last time back when I was kid. My mom teached me how to do sewing, knitting and crochet. She is an expert on crochet. She made me a huge bedcovering, very beautifull. She also used to take order from her friends to make a tablecovering or bed-covering. It took weeks, even months sometimes just to finish it, but tha final product was awesome, very neat, very beautifull and very expensive, It might cost 1 up to 1 million rupiahs each, and it is not cheap at that time.

I used to like to do sewing, knitting and crochet. It was fun. The process could be boring sometimes, specially when it comes to the part where I have to keep repeating the same pattern over and over again. But the final product was very satisfiying. Just like designing a house or a room. The very last moment when I look at the design is always the best moment. Perhaps, that's why I become an architect&Interior Designer. Without even realize it, my mom has build a courage to do art since I was kid. I'm so proud of my mom.

Ok, back to the Project Runway Shows. I asked my hubby to buy me a sewing machine. At first he asked me : "for what", but then after I explain my reason, I guess he really can't say NO to me, hehe..  So now I'm hunting for my sewing machine :)
I will learn how to make pattern, cut it, and sew it. I want to learn how to make clothes. I want to do fashion design, at least for myself. Then next time I might sell it to others, and make money :)
